Salary: $42,084.00 - $59,304.00 AnnuallyLocation : City of Irving, TXJob Type: Maintenance/TradesJob Number: 2400276Department: Solid Waste ServicesOpening Date: 12/09/2024Closing Date: 12/18/2024 5:00 PM CentralJob Posting Duties include riding on the rear of a collection truck, getting on and off to pick up bags, boxes and bundles of brush and loading them into the back of the truck for transport to the Irving landfill or the Municipal Recycling Facility; and providing assistance in unloading the material at the landfill or Municipal Recycling Facility. Duties will require working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions and typically will require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of other employees. Must have formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance, such as in emergencies or other situations in which workers must speak a common language to promote safety. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class C Texas driver's license. Normal schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. four days per week.
