Position Title: Waste Plant Operator

Reports To: Production Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

Efficient operations of lift truck equipment to ensure disposal of waste into waste trucks. Operate equipment to transfer products and waste in conformance with all Washington Potato Company's Spill Prevention and Control Plan and regulatory guidelines. Efficiently operate all waste plant equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential

* Follow Food Safety, Quality, Personal Safety, and any other Washington Potato Company's Polices.

* Knowledge of plant operations, ability to operate efficiently to meet standards.

* Continue to update skills in all areas pertaining to this position through internal and external training.

* Complete daily inspection of waste room to ensure sufficient housekeeping and safety.

* Notify management of any production, safety, quality or environment concerns with equipment, operation or facility

* Be flexible in shift and overtime availability.

* Work with all other departments to ensure good communication and teamwork.

* Track and maintain accurate record of all necessary activities as well as production reporting. This information needs to be accurate and timely.

* Follow production policies and procedures.

* Operates lift truck equipment safely to optimum efficiencies meeting needs of production to supply product and/or dispose of waste in a timely manner.

* Monitor actual line production and handle all products raw/packaged to eliminate waste/downtime while producing to standards.

* Participate in the training of personnel to line performance ensuring performance meets standards.

* Minimize waste and maximize production efficiencies within these areas.

* Monitor and record PH levels as well as other conditions associated with waste water.

* Create and maintain a teamwork environment within the facilities line operations.

* Continue to upgrade skills involved in this position.

* Participate in sanitation of line and equipment as needed/directed.

* Maintain good personal hygiene, follow GMP's and maintain a clean, safe and sanitary workplace. Immediately report and take action, if necessary, when any situation that may cause product to be contaminated or compromised.

* Comply with plant security by ensuring that doors are locked and closed behind you. Report and take action when any suspicious activities to Plant Manager immediately.

* Complete other duties as assigned.

* Maintain accurate data on all necessary forms

* Communicates with the Production, Q.A., maintenance, supervisors, and line operators to ensure that waste plant is running in an effective and in a safe work environment.

* Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Licenses, Permits, Certifications Required

* Lift Truck License
