OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The main objective for the WWT/Technical Engineer is to maintain the Waste Water Treatment Facility, identify cost and process improvement opportunities for chemical usage, identify environmental improvements and maintain water quality requirements for both our final effluent and our plant drinking water.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Equipment Reliability

* Monitor performance of all equipment.

* Coordinate with vendors for repairs, waste (sludge) removal, ordering supplies, and other routine maintenance.

* Maintain lab certification (including all testing equipment).

* Coordinate all required testing and permit renewals.

* Compliance

* Responsible for final water quality from the WWTP that is discharged directly to the Cape Fear River.

* Responsible for drinking water quality for entire facility.

* Responsible for maintaining permit compliance for 1.5 million gallons a day treatment plant.

* Responsible for maintaining permit compliance for drinking water.

* Responsible for reporting and follow up for any environmental incidents involving the WWTP.

* Must maintain (or advance) wastewater license.

* Plant chemical knowledge expert

* Lead cost improvement opportunities for chemical usage both in production and WWT.

* Lead process improvements related to Dyeing and Finishing usage.

* Assess and mitigate risk for chemicals reaching WWTP.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Must possess or will obtain Grade 1 Wastewater License within two months of hire.

* Must possess or will obtain Drinking Water (C Well) License within one year of hire.

* Must possess or will obtain Grade 2 Wastewater License within two years of hire.

* Must possess or will obtain Grade 3 Wastewater License within three years of hire.

* Strong knowledge of chemistry.

* Excellent problem solving skills.

* Ability to manage direct reports and contractors.
