We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Wastewater & Hazardous Waste Lead to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant management of our wastewater treatment system and hazardous waste streams.

A Day In The Life

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Lead with Environmental Expertise:

o Maintain state certifications as a Hazardous Waste Coordinator and DOT Manifest Signing Agent.

o Oversee all aspects of hazardous waste management, from identification and segregation to storage and compliant shipment.

o Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, including 40 CFR 265.16 for hazardous waste handling.

o Lead and participate in trainings related to hazardous waste handling and emergency response (29 CFR 1910.120).

o Collect Lincoln EHS Morning Reading and record the data.

o Responsible for weekly Haz storage inspection, monthly satellite inspection, Haz waste manifest, Haz Waste manifest email, quarterly Haz waste report.

* Wastewater Treatment Champion:

o Manage the 24/7 operation of our wastewater treatment process, ensuring optimal performance and regulatory compliance.

o Conduct routine inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

o Oversee data collection and recordkeeping for key parameters like water flow, pH, ORP, copper levels, and tank cleaning.

o Perform jar test sampling for troubleshooting and process optimization.

o Maintain and repair wastewater treatment equipment, including diaphragm pumps and filtration systems.

o Train and mentor staff on wastewater treatment best practices, ensuring high-quality wastewater discharge.

o Responsible for daily WWT sampling & pH, EHS Morning Reading, monthly and quarterly WWT report.

* Supply Chain Optimization Partner:

o Analyze chemical usage and submit accurate and timely weekly chemical orders to maintain efficient operations.

o Work collaboratively with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement and timely delivery of chemicals.

o Manage the safe receiving and shipping of chemicals.

o Collaborate with the laboratory to ensure proper chemical maintenance and titrations.

The Ideal candidate will possess:

* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations and hazardous waste management.

* Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Valid driver's license.

Training will be conducted annually on the following topics:

* Facility emergency procedures contained within the Integrated Contingency Plan

* Hazardous waste determination / explanation

* Hazardous waste packaging

* Hazardous waste generator management requirements

* 45 hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Technician certification

* Training of 40 hours from MA Industrial Wastewater Treatment courses.

This training must be completed within 10 months, and a valid MA Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's Certificate (Industrial Grade 3) must be obtained within one year of hire.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school or general education degree (GED); or 3 - 5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read ad comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must also be able to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKIILLS and ABILITIES:

Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job; a remedial understanding of chemical wastewater treatment, and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
