General Definition of Work Performs work responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing wastewater treatment plant and lift station equipment for the City of Cape Girardeau.
Essential Functions •Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment; rebuild equipment, including gearboxes and electrical motors at the wastewater treatment facility and lift stations. •Reads and interprets complex information from manuals, diagrams and schematics to perform maintenance, repair and replacement activities for plant equipment, electronics and facilities •Troubleshoots and repair electrical malfunctions using voltage meter, resistance measurement device, continuity meter and amp meter; install new electrical services. •Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. •Performs biosolids testing; treat biosolids to ensure compliance with EPA 503 regulations; transports biosolids. •Performs lab tests. •Work non-standard hours as required. •Responds to emergency call out situations as required. •Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications •High school graduation or equivalency required and three (3) years related experience in equipment repair and maintenance. •Must possess or obtain with two (2) years of the first day of employment a Missouri Class D wastewater license. •Must possess a valid Class E driver's license. Will be required to obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL license with tanker endorsement.
Salary per hour $19.89, plus a generous benefit package. - Bi-weekly pay periods.
