Job Summary Responsible for the safe operation of the Wastewater Treatment plant, wastewater discharge, monitoring, and compliance. Performs routine checks of water and wastewater facilities. This is a continuous 24x7 rotating shift position, and includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.
How You Can Be the Impact - Operate and maintain all aspects of wastewater treatment plant, including physical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment processes.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and ensure other plant equipment is in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
- Manipulation of controls (operate a computer-controlled system while observing production processes); and observe, correct, and record instrument readings.
- Collect samples and perform analytical testing and/or use of laboratory instruments relating to temperature, pressure, volume, and/or weight. Analyze readings.
- Lift materials, connect line/tank hook-ups; conduct area housekeeping, operate a forklift, and clean equipment are also regularly occurring duties.
- Operators are also responsible to follow applicable work processes.
- Complete the job specific training certification.
What Matters to SABIC - High School Diploma, High School Job Readiness Certification, or equivalent educational diploma
- Two years work experience (Manufacturing a plus) or Associates degree or technical degree
- Ability to obtain a NYSDEC 2A license.
- High safety and environmental awareness

- Ability to work overtime as required
Desired Skills - Working knowledge of site chemical operations
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment system design and operation
- NYSDEC 2A license
