Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a Wastewater Pump Station Program Manager (SA 2) to lead essential programs that maintain and rehabilitate Seattle's wastewater pump stations-a vital component of our city's public health infrastructure.

Wastewater pump stations keep our sewer system running by safely moving sewage to treatment facilities. As the Wastewater Pump Station Program Manager, you will play a key role in managing these systems, driving strategic improvements, and ensuring reliable operations that serve the City of Seattle's residents and environment. What You Will Be Doing:

* Manage Program Strategy and Milestones: Set strategic goals, priorities, and financial projections for the rehabilitation program for pump stations and force mains

* Lead Capital and Non-CIP Projects: Define project goals, perform options analysis, and coordinate with teams to manage scope, budgets, and schedules for rehabilitation and maintenance projects

* Support Strategic Planning: Develop financial projections, sequence and prioritize projects, and present program updates to executive leadership

* Optimize Operations: Support operations and maintenance (O&M) staff by resolving outstanding issues and leading smaller, critical non-CIP projects

* Advance Asset Management: Manage and implement the Asset Management Plan for pump stations and force mains, utilizing best practices to ensure system reliability and sustainability

* Lead Commissioning Programs: Integrate and refine commissioning processes, ensuring newly rehabilitated systems operate as designed and meet SPU's operational standards

Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, policy, or engineering or related field.

OR

Education/Experience Equivalency: 2 additional years of related work experience

AND

Experience: Minimum seven (7) years of relevant drainage and wastewater systems (including pump stations) experience for organizations whose size and mission are similar to SPU.

Desired Experience:

* Supervisory experience

* Experience managing a capital program

* Experience and thorough knowledge of commissioning startup procedures and best practices

* Must possess the ability to build and maintain strong relationships while leading and collaborating with multi-disciplined project teams which include Operations and Maintenance staff

* Proficient understanding of construction documentation (engineering plans, contract specifications, startup plans, equipment submittals, and technical data, test results, and operation and maintenance manuals)

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service

This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Effective January 2, 2025, City employees will have the option to work remotely two days per week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is: $52.50 - $78.78 Hourly, ($109,620.00 - $164,492.64 Annually)
