Job Description:

The Facilities Water Engineering Technician at Gigafactory Texas is responsible for working in a team environment involving the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and quality control of our water systems - Domestic water, RO water, Wastewater Treatment etc.

* Independently perform technical tasks. Follow general instructions on new assignments. Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature

* Maintain applicable discipline knowledge, such as wastewater treatment process, RO process, water quality regulations, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and chemical principles

* Routinely resolve problems and troubleshoot problems using reference materials, SOPs, technical guides, and vendor provided manuals

* Apply judgment in resolving non-routine problems, escalate to system engineering as required. Monitor, analyze, and address issues for area processes each shift

* Support area cost-reduction activities by hands on installation of piping, valves etc.

* Assist with installation, modification, and removal of facilities equipment. Maintain tools and equipment necessary for the job in working order. Identify abnormal operating conditions and aids operations team in resolution.

* Complete all assigned PMs and work orders in a timely and detailed manner and documents. Ability and flexibility to work overtime as needed

* Appropriate certifications or licensing and/or equivalent experience and/or equivalent military training/experience

* Industry related associate's degree and/or higher with one year of water or waste water experience

Essential Physcial Demands

* Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day

* Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain

* Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs

* Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts

* Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day

* Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures

* Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing

* Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
