The City of Jamestown is accepting applications for the position of Water Maintenance Operator I. This position involves a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor activities in the routine operation and maintenance of the water distribution system. Applicants must be able to perform moderately heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time in all types of weather. Applicants must have the ability to learn and understand the hazards and safety precautions common to excavations. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and must hold a valid North Dakota Class D driver's license. Applicant must be able to obtain a North Dakota Class B driver's license, with air brake endorsement, within one (1) year. The successful applicant must be able to obtain a Class I Water Distribution Operators Certification from the North Dakota State Health Department within two (2) years of employment.
The Water Department operates on a (40) hour work week with such overtime as is required. The starting salary for this position is $3,797 per month. (Salary range: $3,797 - $5,457).
