The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. Reports to Engineering Services Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support: Assist engineers in the planning and execution of projects by providing technical support and expertise.Design Assistance: Help with the design and drafting of engineering plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Testing and Analysis: Conduct tests on materials, products, and systems to evaluate performance and quality, and document results.Data Collection: Gather and analyze data to support engineering decisions, including conducting experiments and simulations.Maintenance and Repair: Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports, specifications, and documentation related to projects and procedures.Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure project requirements are met.Compliance Checks: Ensure that designs and processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.Fieldwork: Conduct field inspections and assessments to gather information and monitor project progress.Problem Solving: Identify issues and propose solutions during project development and implementation.QualificationsEducation: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).Experience: Previous experience in an engineering technician role or similar position is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with engineering tools and equipment.Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for drafting and design. Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles and practicesAnalytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail for conducting tests and analyzing data.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and documentation of processes.Computer Proficiency: Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for data analysis and reporting.Knowledge of Regulations: Understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and contribute to project goals.Fieldwork: Willingness to conduct field inspections and travel to project sites as necessary.Certifications (optional): Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Engineering Technician) may be beneficial.
