Primary Role
Responsibilities for this position include the day-to-day management of Lead Program to ensure compliance with pertinent state and federal regulations. This position is responsible for managing all activities concerned with the delivery of the lead program. Responsible for development of programs, maintaining budgets, committing expenditures, and setting priorities. Maintains liaisons with individuals within and outside of the organization - key regulatory officials and company personnel. Responsible for acting independently on technical and environmental matters.
Key Accountabilities
* Initiates and controls the Lead program in all geographic areas of responsibility.
* This includes oversight of all required monitoring and reporting of sample results required under the Lead and Copper Rule, Lead and Copper Rule Revisions and Lead and Copper Rule Improvements.
* Ensuring that the Lead program requirements are met in accordance with the Environmental Management Plans.
* Reviewing and determining the impact on company activities from existing and proposed lead regulations at the local, state and federal level.
* Executes departmental business plans associated with the Lead Program and contributes to the development of functional strategies.
* Assisting in preparing capital and O&M budgets for lead related items.
* Assuring policies, programs, standards of performance and approved objectives related to lead compliance are adhered to.
* Monitoring and managing lead regulatory implementation for multiple drinking water systems. This will include ensuring asset management related to the lead regulations are complete and accurate.
* Driving efficiency into project delivery through the monitoring of delivery metrics of the lead program and pursuit of more effective delivery approaches. Management of lead related projects and programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Ensure business partner satisfaction in accordance with the scope of work agreed upon for each project.
* Interacts with Operations, Engineering, Legal, MapCall, External Affairs and WQ personnel to ensure project management program meets regulatory requirements and operational needs.
* Establish appropriate governance programs, change management, and communication strategies.
* As a Product Owner, interacts with Technology & Innovation and business partners to ensure technology implementation and programs are meeting business needs; and enhancements are being prioritized and managed in a transparent and structured manner.
Knowledge/Skills
* Knowledge of science, theory and application of water/wastewater treatment and operations, water quality monitoring and quality assurance programs.
* Must possess knowledge of current and emerging environmental issues and environmental regulations impacting water resources and facility operations.
* Knowledge of industry trade organizations to include participation in related activities aimed at improving environmental program awareness and stewardship opportunities.
* Must understand company goals and objectives, policies, procedures and business plans.
Experience/Education
* Bachelor's Degree required in a Science related
* A minimum of 5 -10 years experience, depending on the level of the position in environmental management, project planning or other public programs.
Certifications & Licenses
* Active State Driver's License required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

* Travel may be 20%
