Primary Role
Responsible for collecting samples from the treatment plant or distribution system, performing routine water quality analyses, sample custody, data entry and recordkeeping. Review and respond to water quality complaints and inquiries.
Key Accountabilities
* Collect and analyze plant, field and regulatory samples following approved methodology.
* Analyze results, record data and identify process control/regulatory problems.
* Prepare reagents/standards,maintain log sheets, clean glassware and maintain laboratory in clean and orderly condition.
* Maintain QA/QC on lab equipment and adjust continuous process control monitors.
* Interaction with customers on water quality issues.
Knowledge/Skills
* Knowledge of basic chemistry and laboratory techniques and QA/QC programs.
* Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Lotus Notes.
Experience/Education
* Associate's degree in a Science-related field or certificate from a technical water or wastewater program. HS Diploma/GED required.
* One year of lab experience or technical training preferred.
* General office experience including customer service desired.
Travel Requirements
* Must possess a valid State issued Driver's License.
Work Environment
* Primarily an indoor laboratory environment. Laboratory work will require periods of standing while performing bench top work.
* Outdoor work in all weather conditions while performing sample collection.
* May include weekends, Holidays and evenings.

* Must be able to distinguish colors to conduct testing using normal colorimetric methods.
