Watershed Progressive is hiring a Water Resource Field Specialist to join our team! As a Water Resource Field Specialist at Watershed Progressive, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission of “ connecting communities with their watersheds through integrated strategies for a healthy, resilient future ” through your skills, expertise, and contribution to a dynamic team. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks related to landscape construction and planning. Your work will contribute to the development and implementation of projects that engage communities in building local climate resilience. This position offers an opportunity to expand your career in building creative, integrative water solutions for healthy communities. WP's northern office is in Groveland, CA near Yosemite National Park and our southern office is in Ojai, CA, although projects can range throughout California. GENERAL JOB DUTIES: Assist with the installation of greywater, stormwater, rainwater, and other Low-Impact Design (LID) and ecological design landscape/green infrastructure projects at residences, commercial spaces, and public spaces. Data collection and file sharing management. Provide training and support to interns, co-op, CCC and other volunteer groups. Perform education and outreach activities for clients, public and peer groups at various scheduled events. Tool management and safety. Team building and communication development. Level II (In addition to above): Led and trained project teams on the installation of greywater, stormwater, rainwater, and other low-impact design and ecological design landscape/green infrastructure projects at residences, commercial and public spaces. Perform installations based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other field derived data. Act as quality control lead on various assigned tasks and projects. Perform site ecological assessment and evaluation, including planning schematics for Water Resource Planning/Drafters/Engineering and adaptive field decisions. Material and bid sheet generation. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Two years of relevant coursework or practical experience in water, wastewater, groundwater, stormwater, or recycled water fields performing professional-level resource planning, modeling, legislative or regulatory analysis, or project management is preferred. Level II: Three of the following advanced certifications (or equivalent): ARCSA, QWEL, PDC, Water-Pro, ALDA, QSD Two years' adaptive field management, and quality control supervisory experience. Experience in construction cost estimates, site grading, drainage plans, utility design including hydrology/hydraulics, and stormwater treatment design. Experience managing installations for commercial or public LID/Green infrastructure projects. Experience with onsite LID water resource and/or watershed-based calculations. Material and bid sheet generation. Perform site ecological assessment and evaluation, including planning schematics for Water Resource Planning/Drafters/Engineering and adaptive field decisions. Act as quality control lead on various assigned tasks and projects. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES A creative, integrative, and constructive positive approach to work ethic, time management, team building, and client output. Detail-oriented, highly self-organized, and able to meet deadlines consistently. Must be a team player and willing to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic, creative environment. Good listener, able to take and follow directions, as well as coordinate identified subtasks with others. Must be able to travel for short and extended periods through California. Must be a self-starter and work independently with conflicting deadlines. Level II (In addition to the above): Must have some general knowledge and/or certification in water conservation, greywater, rainwater, watershed hydrology, and stormwater systems. Able to generate clear, professional planning schematics for water assessment planning. Able to generate schematic details not included on existing drawings to accurately reflect as-installed field conditions based on direction provided by lead drafters, designers, and engineers. HIGHLY DESIRABLE Familiarity and practical experience with practices and trends in water supply, development, and management of water in California. Understanding of regulatory framework for green infrastructure water, wastewater, groundwater, stormwater, or recycled water issues Experience with installing and/or designing greywater, rainwater, or stormwater systems is desirable, while one must have some general knowledge and/or certification of water conservation, greywater, rainwater, watershed hydrology, and stormwater systems Experience working on installations for commercial or public Low Impact Design/Green infrastructure projects Experience installing irrigation systems Experience planting native trees Experience with water resource monitoring data collection and metadata organization Excellent, professional, oral, and/or written communication skills Company Information: Watershed Progressive (WP) is a leader in sustainable water conservation providing design/build services, consultation, and water education for residential and commercial clients.
