Repairs and maintains treatment equipment ensuring optimum operating efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Performs daily visual inspection of all water treatment machinery, equipment, and control panels.Makes adjustments to control pressure and flow of water to the distribution system.Changes chlorine tanks and adjusts chlorination amount.Performs daily maintenance activities to ensure optimum operating efficiency.Repairs and maintains or replaces malfunctioning pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, flow meters, gauges, and chlorination equipment.Records any repairs in an activity log.Assists in repairing minor plumbing and electrical problems.Responds to customer complaints concerning water problems and/or quality in homes.Takes samples and tests for chlorination; delivers samples to the laboratory by Village vehicle if further tests are required.Maintains daily log of operations, including maintenance performed and equipment replaced or adjusted.Accurately interprets test data received from the laboratory.Follows all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs building and grounds maintenance and janitorial activities at all Water Supply Treatment facilities.Plows snow.Paints various equipment and building interiors and exteriors.Minimum Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and two (2) years of technical experience as a licensed water supply operator in a municipal water system; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Operator-in-Training license may be considered for hire with other experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess the following certifications and/or licenses: an Illinois EPA Class C Public Water Supply Operator's License or be able to attain a license within 1 year, and possession of a valid Illinois commercial driver's license (CDL) class B vehicle license with an Air Brake endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.#J-18808-Ljbffr
