Water & Wastewater ManagerISSUE DATE: 12/31/2024CLOSING DATE: OUFELIGIBILITY: Internal & ExternalLOCATION: Deltona WaterRegular Full-Time Exempt VacancyAnticipated Hiring Range: $77,400.96 - $121,630.08Contact Workbright's customer service department at (844) ###-#### if you experience issues submitting an application.DEFINITION:Responsible for the management of 24-hour operation of a water and/or wastewater plant(s), including the management, supervision, assignment, training and cross training of facility personnel. Accountable and responsible for staffing, budgeting and operation of all waste water and water plant facilities. This is an Emergency Essential position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive):Schedules work assignments of assigned personnel. Develops and administers annual preventative maintenance programs for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure. Develops capital project lists for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure. Develops capital equipment lists.Develops scope of work descriptions and obtains quotes. Works with purchasing and management staff to procure professional services, capital improvements, R&R and O&M projects. Participates in annual budget process. Prepares or assists in the preparation and control of budgets and monitors and fileslaboratory records/reports, compliance and permitting issues (flow rates, fecal coliform, etc.) and MOR's.Reviews, approves, processes and files timesheets, time off requests, local purchasing for plant(s) and other employee requests. Prepares weekly operational reports. Develops recordkeeping systems to meetenvironmental, operations and regulatory requirements. Monitors lab results to ensure they are in compliance with acceptable operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Monitors regulations and rules that impact facilities under supervision, Reports findings to management and adjust operations, as appropriate. Coordinates with regulatory agencies, as appropriate. Provides background informationand supporting documentation to management prior to submission. Oversees the operating conditions of all plants, relying on operating experience to identify inconsistencies or problems in operating conditions and effectiveness. May develop, recommend and implement minor modifications to plant operating systems. Supervises and manages staff including interviewing, hiring, conducting performance appraisals, administering discipline, providing training and cross-training, planning and directing work assignments, administering company policies affecting staff and keeping staff up-to-date on information and changes in requirements/procedures necessary for effective job performance. Duties performed under usual office conditions with occasional exposure to the elements, noise, energized tools/equipment and odors. Typically, managerial and supervisory responsibilities occupy at least 80% of the workday, with no more than 20% of the time spent performing manual tasks normally associated with plant operations and maintenance. Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings. Attends and participates in manager's meetings with management.Additional Duties:Participates in City events. Directs staff in their participation. Performs related work as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:College graduate or equivalent experience. Minimum A in water and/or wastewater with a minimum eight (8) years' experience as a licensed operator, plus at least four (4) years in a management or supervisory capacity.
