Title: Energy Auditor Department: Weatherization/Energy ServicesHours: 40 hours per week Location: 2 Rock Street, PhilmontWages: $21 per hour Status: Non-ExemptA COI Weatherization Program Energy Auditor completes a comprehensive evaluation of each eligible housing unit to determine the best ways toimprove its energy efficiency, health and safety. As an Energy Auditor, you will use specialized equipment and diagnostic tests to identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend improvements. This is the first step in our Weatherization Process.Responsibilities:Perform a computerized evaluation of a building to identify energy-saving opportunitiesBased on the evaluation, recommend improvements such as air sealing, duct sealing, and installing energy efficient appliances and devicesEducate COI customers on how to use the efficiency upgrades to their homesOversee and inspect the work of contractors and crew members to ensure it meets energy efficiency standardsPrepare detailed work orders for each auditCollect and enter data into required auditing databasesMaintain files and complete data entries via computerReview invoicing and prepare approval of vendor billingAssist with all crew work as needed to meet production goalsPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, kneel and/or crawlUse hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and armsSpeech and hearing to communicate in person and by telephoneVision to read handwritten and printed materials and a computer screenRegularly required to work in confined spaces and/or dirty areas, such as crawlspaces and atticsRegularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 100 poundsThis job requires performing assigned job duties both indoors and outdoors in a complete range of weather conditionsThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderateWork environment also requires working in confined and/or dirty areas, such as crawlspaces and atticsMust be fit tested to wear a respirator that fits the employee's face and making sure it provides a tight seal to help keep you protected (at COI expense)Reasonable accommodations may be provided for some physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodations.All COI staff work together to achieve individual, family, community, and agency goals. Must have or be able to, within a reasonable amount of time, obtain lead renovator certification, OSHA 10, and Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor Certification.
