Job Title: Web Content Specialist

Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 months

Location: South Jersey (initially onsite, transitioning to hybrid after 90 days)

Rate: $35-$40 per hour

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a versatile Web Content Specialist to join a dynamic Corporate Communications team. This role involves managing digital content across internal platforms and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, technical proficiency in content management systems, and basic knowledge of HTML and JavaScript. This is a highly visible role, supporting communication efforts across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer daily content requests and updates using SharePoint, HTML, Markdown, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review, edit, and publish communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Proofread and ensure content is consistent with branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Maintain the internal communications platform by updating announcements, managing page content, and making minor design adjustments.
  • Support content audits and maintain logs of all updates for tracking purposes.
  • Participate in digital content migration projects, particularly moving from HTML to Markdown.
  • Work closely with an offshore SharePoint resource to enhance the platform's functionality and bridge the communication gap between internal teams and technical resources.
  • Analyze content metrics using Google Analytics to improve content reach and effectiveness.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in content management systems (SharePoint experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in HTML and basic JavaScript for updating content.
  • Familiarity with Markdown or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and editing skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of brand guidelines and the ability to ensure compliance in all published content.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics for tracking content performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content management or a similar role.
  • Prior experience in corporate communications or managing content for internal audiences.

Additional Information:

This is a 12-month contract role with the potential for extension. Initially, the role will require full-time onsite work for the first 90 days, after which it will transition to a hybrid model with 3 days onsite.
