Highway 52, Moncks Corner Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 01470 Department: Information Technology Opening Date: 09/25/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Job Summary and Essential Functions THIS POSITION IS IN OFFICE ONLY! This position is for a professional who is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of all county websites and associated applications; and deals courteously and professionally with coworkers and the public. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Implement and develop IT applications and web services, including computerized business systems and software that meeting the County's operational and technological requirements.
  • Provide overall management of activities for specific software applications and related hardware issues, including patching and maintaining server infrastructure.
  • Consult with IT staff, Elected Officials, Department Directors, supervisory staff, consultants, and vendors to gather information about application needs, objectives, functions, features and interface requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems or questions about specific applications.
  • Keep abreast of current developments regarding security issues and web technologies through continuing education, professional reading, listservs, participation in conferences and professional groups and write code to guard against security vulnerabilities.
  • Train end users or technical support staff to use applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field;
  • Four (4) years of related experience in business or government information technology;
  • Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Requirements:
  • Departmental testing may be administered during interview;
  • A criminal background check will be completed on selected applicant if a current one (less than 3 years old) is not on file.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This position is considered emergency essential and will be required to report to work during any declared emergency situation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and peripheral devices with a good understanding of the Internet application systems environment.
  • Working knowledge of Word Press is necessary/
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance operating systems MS Windows (required) and Linux/Unix (preferred).
  • Experience with network operations and management a plus.
  • Powershell and BASH scripting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of database systems MS SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Working knowledge of languages C#, SQL (required), HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of web servers IIS and Apache preferred.
  • Experience with Streaming Video, Office 365, and GIT Source Control a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with specific application areas of government may be preferred.
  • Project management, implementation, conversion and applications and development experience preferred.
  • Skill in excellent oral and written communications.
  • Skill in organization, detail orientation and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to produce procedures and technical reports.
Physical Demands This position requires the employee to sit and use hands to handle, feel, finger, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Conditions The work is regularly performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm with the ability to work flexible hours when necessary. This position is considered emergency essential and the employee must be available for service calls outside of normal working hours. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.
