JOB SUMMARY The Web Fullstack Engineer at Lindblad Expeditions will play a critical role in implementing new features and functionality across the consumer-facing website and other digital services. Candidates who apply for the role will have experience working with frontend frameworks (such as NextJs) as well as backend services (like Golang). Implementing quality code, adhering to best practices, and reducing technical complexity will be key facets of this role. A successful candidate will be willing to take on a diverse range of projects and be willing to adapt to changing priorities as new business opportunities arise. DUTIES: Support delivery of scalable Golang backend services leveraging AWS cloud tech and front-end applications using the NextJS framework Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, and identify technical solutions Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practice Leverage software libraries, shared components, and common services to reduce complexity Continuously improve application/service performance through profiling, tuning, and code refactoring Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner Stay in tune with industry trends and best practices Integrate front end experiences with Content Management Systems leveraging relevant APIs and technologies Participate in technical initiatives from design and implementation to delivery and ongoing support for both front and back-end services as required Participate in roadmap and planning exercises to ensure deliverables are understood and well-defined Communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in writing to ensure alignment and support transparency Follow DevOps best practices including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practice of implementing and testing code QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years engineering experience 3+ years working with backend services 2+ years working with NextJS/Vercel and/or knowledge of React framework Experience using Typescript 2+ years working with Golang and/or .NET Experience with CICD software lifecycle and working within an Agile/Scrum team environment Experience integrating with headless CMS (e.g. Contentful or similar) Experience building and working with GraphQL APIs Experience integrating with REST API libraries (e.g. map components, address validation, digital asset management, etc.) Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases as well as caching systems Some experience working with AWS services Ability to write code that can be supported by modern test automation platforms (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, or similar) Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices Experience with code collaboration platforms like GitHub Familiarity with Docker Familiarity with identity management software, e.g. Auth0/Okta Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and functionality A problem-solver mindset with strong debugging skills and high attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment Ability to articulate technical concepts and communicate effectively with other team members This role is eligible for a 7.5% annual bonus. COMPENSATION STATEMENT Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
