The Web Merchandiser/Merchant is a hybrid role with both Merchandiser and Merchant responsibilities. The person in this role partners with divisional team members, vendors, and stakeholders from e-commerce, marketing, and our IT departments under the direction of the Divisional Merchandise Manager. They will be responsible for strategizing and executing web and social strategies that drive customer satisfaction, brand value, sales, and conversion increases for brick and mortar, web, web only, D2C, BOPUS, affiliate and Concept Shop sales. In addition, this position will help drive non-selling content on the Blains web site and social media.

* Schedule and participate in vendor meetings

* Develop and maintain DTC and affiliate partnerships

* Partnership with buyers, planners, and e-comm team in establishing and maintaining budgets for online sales, margins, inventory, turn, SKUs, and GMROI in partnership with the Divisional Merchandise Manager and Inventory Managers

* Advocate for and facilitate non-selling content on web and in social that creates customer engagement, shares product knowledge, and reenforces brand values

* Advocate for, track, and report on web/POS functionality with SME within Marketing, IT, store ops, buying, and customer insights.

* Work with customer insights and web analytics to understand customer journey and how customer needs are met or missed by web and product experience

* Create reporting and deliver against goals on a weekly basis to division

* Act as divisional liaison with marketing for all electronic CGP strategies

* Act as divisional liaison with marketing on a new key item product additions and new brands being introduced .

**Associated Functions:**

* Perform competitive analysis and partner with customer insights to drive overall go to market strategy

* Create profitable sales and conversion web strategies for in store/web, web only, DTC, and BOPUS products that are data driven and KPI measured Complete other assignments and special projects as assigned

* Creates private brand meta data creation for the web site.

* Partner with Brick-and-Mortar merchants to design and execute testing to learn about web only and brick and mortar opportunities

* W ork with e-comm marketing team to optimize search logic on-site

* Drive DTC story/merchandising brand, category, and item opportunities that increase the offering, sales, and conversion while optimizing customer experience

* Work with Administrative Assistants in managing SKUs through the vendor portal and managing samples for photography where required.

* Bachelors degree or 2-4 years of experience as a merchant with online experience

* Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

* Strong skills with Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook software

* Demonstrated understanding of retail math

* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, as well interpersonal skills that create strong relationships with individuals within teams inside and outside the company.

* Demonstrated margin and terms negotiation skills

* Ability to travel as required to competitive retailers, vendors, trade shows, and seminars

* Demonstrated problem solving skills including defining issues, collecting relevant data, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, setting strategies, and excellence in tactical execution.
