Job Description:Supervisor: Foreman
General Description of Position: Responsible for smoothing out, leveling and finishing freshly poured concrete at job or construction sites. Perform repairs on cures concrete.
Essential functions and responsibilities listed below:
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure concrete surfaces
- Set and check the forms that hold concrete to ensure they are well constructed
- Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
- Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it
- Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
- Mold expansion joints
- Pour concrete ensuring that it is level and smooth
- Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process
- Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete on forms
- Mix and apply cementitious materials for the repair of surface defects in cured concrete
- Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor

Specific Equipment and Materials to be used: Operate power vibrator to compact concrete, pneumatic chisel, saws, power grinder and hand tools
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred but not necessary
