TITLE: Webmaster DEPARTMENT: Information Technology REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer CLASSIFICATION: Staff-12 months EFFECTIVE DATE: TBDSTANDARD WORK HOURS: 37.5 hours per week EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Exempt JOB SUMMARY: The webmaster manages all aspects of the university website and Intranet; including but not limited to maintaining content, managing the hosted environment and technical administration of the website, and ensuring the website is functioning properly and available to the University community at all times. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates, integrates, and manages information contributed to the webpages; establishes template formats and logical structures for webpages, as appropriate; may guide and assist contributors with editorial and publishing-related issues, as appropriate.
- Assists content managers with the development of webpages. This is to include one-on-one counseling as well as continuous group workshops. Creates and revises web content as needed.
- Monitors and provides ongoing analysis of the University's webpages to identify broken links and content errors as well as outdated content.
- Keep abreast of current technology and incorporate new ideas and functions to keep the content management system (CMS) up to date.
- Provides technical support for the website and works as a liaison to the hosting company.
- Participates in Web planning and development projects and assists in developing and maintaining operational controls and procedures for the KSU Website.
- Provide analytical support for the creation of information sharing policies and procedures.
- Maintain consistency, uniformity, and professionalism across the KSU website.
- Identifies training needs, prepares and delivers ongoing training for University content managers and other website users.
- Performs ongoing evaluation of website software and hardware to ensure the continued and future effectiveness and efficiency of the homepage and front facing pages.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of established programming procedures and programming languages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and standards of integrated web site structuring and design.
- Ability to provide website training to staff and/or students in area of expertise.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and programs in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of current alternatives in available web site software and hardware.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of current authoring languages, editing and authoring tools, and related web site technologies.
- Intermediate graphic design and editing skills
- Solid experience with social media and mobile web technologies.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work and effectively multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and disciplined to accomplish goals with a strong sense of responsibility.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Licensing and Certifications: NA WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and life frequently
