Wythe Hotel, located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a 69-room independently owned and operated boutique Hotel, recently recognized with a MICHELIN Key distinction.

Our amenities include; Le Crocodile, a renowned French brasserie featured in the NY Times Top 100 restaurants list, Bar Blondeau, a rooftop lounge, and over 6,000 sq. ft. of versatile event space.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive seller to lead our Wedding Sales team, and to focus on strategic growth of our thriving wedding business..

The primary objective of Wythe Hotel is taking great personal responsibility to assure that every guest that is dining with us, staying with us, or visiting with us has a FANTASTIC and MEMORABLE time. We will go to great lengths to guarantee that every guest has an experience that is effortless and puts them at tremendous ease. If we've succeeded in these objectives, our guests, when they are far away, will desire to come back again, and again.

Job Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

Responsibilities include growing awareness of Wythe Hotel in the upscale weddings market to contribute to and grow the hotel's overall Event Revenue for weddings and wedding related events.

Working with provided tools, and with any other resources, the ideal candidate must energetically and constantly be introducing new wedding planners to Wythe, and converting wedding leads into contracts. The Wedding Sales Director must be able to communicate effectively and graciously with the Sales team, clients and management, be a motivated self-starter, be looking for clear direction and welcoming of constructive feedback. They must turn up every day with a desire to contribute to the success of the property and the entire company.

Our Events business at Wythe is built on providing a high level of personal attention and service.

The Wedding Sales team must always strive to provide exceptional service to every client, ensuring that each decision is made with the clients best interests at the forefront.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask, make decisions and prioritize in a fast paced environment, under pressure.
  • A positive personality, excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Sales skills are critical.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as required to provide client site tours & attend client tastings.

  • A minimum of 1 weekend day in office is required each week to conduct wedding site tours and handle lead coverage (Tuesday-Saturday schedule)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and Contract weddings, and wedding related events such as welcome receptions/dinners, and post wedding brunches, and once contracted provide detailed turnover to Event Manager to ensure flawless execution of events
  • Conduct client site tours for wedding couples looking to host their celebration at Wythe Hotel and walkthroughs for vendors or wedding planners
  • Constant communication with appropriate Wythe Event Operations & Culinary team members to make sure event details are relayed to the proper associates for seamless execution
  • Be able to thoughtfully represent and successfully sell event spaces and food programs to clients
  • Assist Event Managers with handling any unexpected issues or emergencies that may arise during the planning process or on the wedding day
  • Represent Wythe Hotel at pertinent industry events to network and build relationships and awareness
  • Stay current with trends in the industry to ensure Wythe Hotel continues to maintain its standing as Brooklyn's premiere wedding venue
  • Vendor interface with wedding planners and other vendors as needed
  • This position will work closely with the Director of Commercial Strategy & Director of Marketing to continually come up with creative ways to increase our wedding & wedding related events and to ensure continued growth in our projected income areas
  • Prepare any sales reporting needed by Ownership or Management
  • Attend department and property meetings as needed
  • Perform general office duties and assist other personnel as required
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff, managers, corporate staff and ownership
  • Additional duties as assigned by Wedding Sales Director or Director of Commercial Strategy
  • Qualifications

    • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
    • 5+ years wedding sales experience at an upscale venue
    • Experienced and capable of closing business
    • Demonstrate creative thinking, commitment to goals, energy, drive and professionalism.
    • Maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
    • In person 5 days a week
    • Flexible availability and a commitment to supporting the team with as needed
    • Positive & motivated attitude, ability to work well in a team environment
    • Works well under pressure: Candidate must be able to gracefully respond to demand in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
