Overview:
Job duties and responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, for the day-to-day maintenance of the production facility. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Maintaining electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems associated with our day-to-day electroplating operations. Operation of wastewater treatment system and hazardous waste streams. Reading and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics. Fabricating using lathes, mills, and welders (metal and plastics welding) Able to be certified to use supplied air respirators for tank cleaning operations. Learn and understand basic electroplating principles and concepts. Operate industrial fork trucks and pallet jacks. Follow and understand safety procedures related to lockout/tag out and power source isolation. Be able to lift 75lbs. on occasion and be able to handle being on your feet, on concrete floors, the majority of the day. Read micrometers, thickness gages and profilometers. Complete any tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Cleaning up work areas and machines after completion of work duties. Job Requirements
The maintenance technician must maintain a professional and courteous manner with co-workers, visitors, outside vendors, and contractors. Maintenance technician must have the necessary knowledge to effectively complete tasks outlined above. One must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Technician must be able to work overtime when needed.
Education/Qualifications
- 2 year of post graduate training in the maintenance field or equivalent on the job experience.
- Valid drives license and reliable transportation required.
- HVAC, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic knowledge a plus.
- Welding including Mig, Tig and arc.
- Machining using a mill and lathe.
- Reading and using electrical test equipment.
Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards
- Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heaving carts, seasonal high temperature and humidity levels, working at heights, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.
- Potential splash exposure near process lines.
- Various chemicals used in process.
