As the Weekend Newsroom Support Producer at K-LOVE, you'll be the dynamic pulse of our newsroom on weekends, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Reporting directly to the Newsroom Manager, you'll be the vigilant eyes and ears of our team, handling a diverse range of responsibilities.

From managing news desk duties and energizing our social media channels to producing and scheduling engaging local public affairs programming, you'll be at the center of it all.

Your role is crucial in keeping our weekend broadcasts fresh and compelling, and you'll work closely with various teams to make sure our content is top-notch and on point.

Here's the experience we are seeking:

• Minimum of 1-2 years related experience in the Broadcast Media.
• Demonstrated successful project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, database management, and scheduling software.
• Proficient with studio software applications including ProTools, Soundforge, TLC, Spot Depot, FTP.
• Proficient with all newsroom type broadcast equipment.
• Demonstrate acute attention to detail.
• A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for our mission and values.

Education

• Bachelors degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.

Here's some of what you will be doing:

• Be the eyes and ears of the Newsroom during weekday hours. Monitor for any local K-LOVE market news that might warrant the creation and delivery of a Local News Breakaway. This would involve researching, verifying, writing and voicing updates via SUI (Satellite User Interface). Alert News team leadership if a national crisis develops during the weekend.
• As assigned, assist in the final editing production of Local Public Affairs programs being prepared for broadcast.
  • Review interview segments, selecting relevant and compelling portions and complete edits for segments.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork on assignments in a timely manner.
• Proactively manage portions of news web pages on K-LOVE digital platforms.
  • Research and maintain awareness of breaking news stories, post stories on websites. Ensure pages are updated and relevant.
• Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet ministry core values.
• Maintain effective working internal team relationships and with external support departments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
