The Weekend-Only Patient Care Technician will will work with various types of patients within the inpatient nursing departments. Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, the PCT performs various duties assisting unit staff nurses and clerical specialists to ensure efficient unit operations and safe patient care following established procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to: bathing, dressing and feeding of patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy and Ekg's.Education Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia or completion of 1st semester of clinical rotations in anRN program preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Previous acute care hospital work experience preferred.
Skill Requirements
- Ability to meet physical and mental requirements for fast paced nursing unit
Skills Desired
- Previous experience in health care setting, i.e. nursing assistant or completion of 1st semester of clinical rotations. Able to communicate with patients and other staff- verbal, auditory, and in written form using Augusta Health documentation.
