The Role:The Weekend Residential Supervisor provides supervision to Weekend Program and Overnight Staff. The Weekend Residential Supervisor will collaborate with the Life Skills Manager & Teachers to implement student programming.Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conducts daily team debriefings with Weekend Residential staff providing updates on students/programming.
  • Packs & distributes medication
  • Participate in the interviewing and selection of Weekend Residential staff
  • Trains new staff on agency procedures
  • Provides disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, etc. when necessary to direct reports.
  • Coordinate and arrange coverage for weekend staff call-outs or time off.
  • Provides weekend and overnight coverage if necessary
  • Completes necessary student assessments
  • Completes performance appraisal review forms and participate in performance discussions with Weekend Residential staff.
  • Point of contact for all REACH families during weekend hours.
  • Provide assistance to other CHSC departments when needed.
  • Weekly Administrative hours to include but not limited to- Review and submit payroll bi-weekly using ADP-communicate weekend updates, staff coverage, etc.
  • Remains active and current on all required training
  • Ensures all direct reports remain active and current on all required training, following disciplinary action as needed.
  • Manage apartment turnover during transitions. Assist with packing and organizing those moving out or moving apartments and ensure that all apartments are thoroughly cleaned and organized by staff. Assist in cleaning and be sure apartment and bedroom signs are updated. Additional duties in this area to be reviewed when needed.
  • Ensure apartment/bedroom cleanliness prior to week visitors and post week visitors.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide transportation of residents/students as needed. Use of own vehicle may be required.
  • Maintain Medication Certification and administer medications as directed by the Program Nurse.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by REACH Program Director or the VP of Compliance.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in human services or related job experience.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor preferred
  • Previous experience in a 24/7 Residential Program preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to affect and maintain positive working relationships with students, families, staff, and the general public.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license
  • Ability to obtain State of Connecticut Medication Administration certification
  • Work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Able to adapt to flexible nature of the position.
  • Maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Excellent effective judgment, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Obtain/maintain in-service requirements as mandated Chapel Haven Schleifer Center.
  • Ability to follow a schedule
