Products are manufactured at company operated facilities in the East, South, and Midwestern United States. We are looking for Code Welders to join our team! This position welds steel plates and piping of all kinds by using electric arc welding and/or squirt welding machines. Welds horizontal seams, vertical seams and overhead seams and in addition all other types of welding joints, i.e. butt joints, overlap joints, v-groove joints, double v-groove joints, fillet and beveled, etc. Will be required to satisfactorily pass weld test per company's QC Manual and WPS within 6 months of hire. This is a full-time shop position located in York, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical position.
- Fits all connections, making sure they are plumb and level and welds in place.
- Welds seams (in all positions) on high and low pressure boilers.
- Uses oxyacetylene burning equipment to torch out openings in piping for proper alignment and fit couplings and connections.
- Interprets welding symbols as used on blueprints.
- Uses plumb lines and leveling gauges.
- Uses steel tape or rulers to an accuracy of 1/16 .
- Removes slag from weld with slag hammer or wire brush.
- Stamps all welds with personal certification stamp.
- Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rates labor grade.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Basic blueprint reading.
- Use and understanding of measuring devices.
- Ability to use power and hand tools.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
- Five years of related experience preferred.
