Job summary: Responsible to complete various types of weld preparation, the actual welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
Responsibilities :
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques
- Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
- Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys and aluminum
- Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Cut position and clamp together fabricated and raw metal products preparatory to weld.
- Use of conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Some knowledge of welding equipment maintenance
- Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Follow all safety regulations and precautions and maintain housekeeping in the working area
- Performs other work as assigned.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment): - Must possess a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must have previous experience in various forms of welding.
- Must be able to read and understand English
- Must be able to read tape measure
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic; Be a team player
- Must be able to climb, twist, bend and stoop.
- Must have use of hands and be able to work over-head.
- Must be able to stand, squat, and grasp.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
