  • Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding and any combination of welding process.
  • Fabricate or repairs products according to layouts, blueprints, and work orders or samples.
  • Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
  • Locate and repairs cracks using inspection equipment and gas torch.
  • Ensure gases are properly stored.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Perform in-process inspection of equipment.
  • Assist with any other job-related duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Math Ability:Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates and Licenses:Metal inert gas welding certificationKnowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
  • Knowledge of working with stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and bronze are essential
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
  • Ability to fabricate jobs from drawings
  • Ability to use tape measure, dial calipers, and use of fixtures
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise
  • Familiarity with machine shop environment and has prior tungsten inert gas welding experience
