About the job Welder Position: WelderShift: 1st Hours: 7:00 am-3:00 pmType: Full-Time Mode:Direct Placement / Contract-To-HireIndustry: ManufacturingOur client is looking for a responsible Welder. This is a Direct Placement/ Temp to Hire position with our key manufacturing client. To be considered for this role, you will need 5 years of experience they need to have for the role.Prepare materials for welding; cut, grinds, and cleans metal.Read weld blueprints, and engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positionsusing complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable)Dimensionally inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labelsWork outside department as required, primarily in belt and hand grindingComplete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard timesFollow all safety guidelines and wear all Personal Protective EquipmentEnsures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Weld production parts as well as developing new jobsParticipate in creating designs to best establish tooling and parts processing methodsDocument detailed weld schedules and process sheetsLend tooling, fixturing, and process knowledge expertise to production jobs in an effort to increase efficiencyMust be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED Equivalent is requiredMinimum of 10 years experience in Aerospace Welding5 years of solid general computer skills required, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel in particular, being proficient in math skills requiredMust be able to design and build complex fixtures as needed.Must be able to consistently hold tight tolerances up to +/- .005 Must be able to pass required welding certifications (AWS D17.1) as needed.1 year of basic welding and metallurgy requiredRead, interpret, and process to work instructionsCapable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopesCapable of operating computer-controlled machines and making program adjustments as requiredCut, polish, etch and evaluate pre-weld acceptance samples, quarterly process control samples, and filament change control samplesComplete logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performedSupport Welding Engineers in development of process schedulesExcellent written and verbal communication skillStrong written and verbal communication skillsBestLogic Staffing (BLS) is a Top Staffing Firm that's partnered with some of the largest names in various industries.
