Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Follows all corporate safety guidelines
- Operates saws, shears, cranes and other shop equipment as needed
- Fabricates, welds, grinds and burns numerous types of metals
- Maintains shop floor organization and cleanliness
- Goes on service calls that may sometimes require an individual to stay out of town for a short period (service calls pay additional wages per hour as an incentive)
- Other tasks as assigned
Skills & Requirements
- Strong fabrication background
- Experience with welding, burning and equipment operation
- Willingness and ability to work on various types of equipment that would, at times, not require any fabricating
- Willingness and ability to occasionally stay out of town for short periods of time
- Willingness and ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week on average
- More fabrication skills than welding skills
- Be able to read a tape measure accurately to the nearest 1/16
- Be very proficient in stick welding
- Mig welding experience
- Very proficient in carbon arc/air arc gouging
- Experience in using lancing rods
- General knowledge of hard facing applications on heavy dirt moving equipment
- Know how to pull and calculate angles
- Heavy plate fabrication experience
- Experience using iron workers/drill press/press brakes
- Overhead crane experience
Education & Experience
- 2-5 years of structural and miscellaneous fabrication and welding
- AWS D1.1 Certification
