Job: Welding Engineer/Manager Location: Sturbridge MAJob Description: The Welding Engineer/Manager will oversee our welding program using ASME & Mil Procedures for SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and PTAW, Sub Arc and Stud. We do Welding on Carbon Steel, SS, HY-80, Aluminum and Inconels.
Principal Duties and Requirements: - Schedules Welding Workflow
- Plans, organizes and develops the technical aspects of all types of welding procedures
- Familiar with Material Combinations, Preheat Requirements, PWHT & Visual Weld Inspections.
- Work directly with Customers & Engineers
- Write WPS/PQR to ASME Standards
- Establishes and documents welding processes in accordance with national and military standards and specifications
- Develops, recommends, and coordinates the implementation of improved/enhanced processes, techniques, and safety procedures for all welding performed within the company
- Identifies problems with and identifies the resolution of welding processes, issues, and concerns
- Performs root cause analysis with emphasis on eliminating problems through machine/welding/assembly process improvements including equipment/materials purchasing requirements
- Keeps abreast of Best Practices and state-of-the-art welding technologies and safety procedures used throughout the industry
- Serves as a key resource in the development of capacity planning, production control and troubleshooting of production welding processes
- Identify the need for, and drive the design requirements for associated production tooling
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
- CWI a plus
Physical Demands/Work Environment: - Work in an office environment and on the shop floor. This is a very hands-on position.
