Job Summary
- ECTC is seeking a Welding Instructor to teach students in both theory and practice by developing and delivering online and on-campus instruction of courses related to the welding environment.
Job DutiesThis position is responsible for curriculum development and curriculum revision, academic advising duties, professional development, internal and external service, and participation in student recruitment and retention activities. The assignment may include some evening and weekend hours, as well as teaching at all ECTC satellite campuses. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching and learning, working with diverse populations, and growing the College's mission and vision. The assignment period is full-time 10 month (August-May).Minimum Qualifications:Position Requirements:Education: Associate Degree in Welding and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.Preferred QualificationsSuccessful candidates should demonstrate:•The ability to use Blackboard for communication and feedback, curriculum development, course design, and student outcome assessment. •Requires a background in the areas of Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc, and Flux Core Arc welding processes, as well as flame cutting and plasma cutting, blueprint reading for welders, electrodes, filler rods/wire, and weld types. Knowledge of certification processes is desirable. •Classroom and laboratory instruction and maintaining a safe and professional working environment for students in the welding lab.•Knowledge of shop equipment is required, (shears, saws, grinders, punches, breaks, etc.).•Strong communications/relationship-building skills.•The ability to teach in a professional, enthusiastic, and organized manner to maintain order and discipline while reaching as many students as possible. •Developing and maintaining working relationships with local industry representatives.•Setting and implementing high-expectation standards related to safety and professional behaviors.•Understanding and implementing workplace organization (5s) standards.Position is open until filled, the review begins January 6, 2025To apply please visit: KCTCS/ECTC is an equal-opportunity employer and education institution.
