As a Wellness Specialist you advise customers toward the path to wellness through lifestyle, supplementation and nutrition. Wellness Specialists utilize product information to educate customers and assist them in making smart health and product decisions. Job Requirements:
- Knowledge or background in Nutrition, natural health and wellness
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Friendly, service-oriented and understanding with people
- At least 1 year retail/customer service experience, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced retail setting
- Flexible Schedule - Available to work evenings and weekends
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours
- Able to travel to other Peoples locations if necessary
- Familiarity with nutritional supplements
Job Duties and Responsibilities:1. Customer Service:
- Promptly greet all customers and offer assistance
- Advise customers towards the best path to wellness through lifestyle, supplementation, and nutrition. Follow 7-minute rule and abide by DSHEA guidelines
- Assist customers with finding products by placing special orders or by calling other stores.
- Seek help from experienced team-members if customer needs an educated redirect towards their primary care physician, a wellness practitioner, a pharmacist, a manager, the urgent care or the ER
- Answer phones and provide excellent customer service or connect to the appropriate person
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy with both customers and co-workers in challenging situations
- Finalize the customer experience by checking shoppers out at the register
- Process customer returns to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure that everyone has a positive experience and leaves happy
- Be available to rotate through opening and closing shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed
2. Inventory Maintenance:
- Check in shipments and stock products on shelves
- Maintain an organized backstock area and restock shelves so that oldest product is in the front, names of products are clearly visible and shelves appear neat and organized
- Alert buying team to customer interest in products that we don't stock, or to new or recent information that may change consumer buying patterns
- Identify soon-to-expire product and alert buyer for appropriate action
- Participate in preparation for bi-annual inventory count
3. Store Maintenance:
- Clean/dust shelves, empty trash/recycling, sanitize common areas: bathroom, kitchen, cleaning fridges and freezers, bathroom cleaning rotation, spot cleaning floors, glass cleaning
- Ensure that the store is well-presented at all times
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing training at the store level including lunch and learns, team meetings and reviewing new product information from manufacturers
- Fulfill continuing education hours as required for wellness specialists
- Self-study through outside programs, book borrowing and general interest
- Stay current with new information regarding store procedures, changes in products, re-calls, and new products added to inventory
