What does this role entail? Under the direction of the company Owner/Assistive Technology Professional, the Wheelchair Service Technician will work as an apprentice in the following skills and responsibilities: Respond to all customer requests in a timely, friendly manner. Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, and/or test electronic/mechanical mobility devices and equipment in accordance with company best practices. Test performance of mechanical components and assemblies to diagnose malfunctions using a variety of equipment and software; analyze and record test results; prepare written testing documentation. Work with customers to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems and to work out repair arrangements; coordinate and collaborate with other trades personnel to complete assignments. Read schematics, manuals, diagrams, and technical orders to determine installation or repair procedures. Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance; maintain equipment logs of performance issues; document system designs and changes; provide reports of work performed. Order supplies as needed; keep parts, supplies, and tools in order. Completing additional tasks or projects as assigned or required. Maintaining compliance with all Company policies and procedures at all times.

To be a strong candidate for this position, some of your qualifications might include: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current driver's license, clean driving record, and responsible driving habits. An aptitude and desire to grow in mechanical troubleshooting and basic problem solving (previous experience is a plus, but training will be provided). Degree/certification in related field a plus, but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Emotionally intelligent and perceptive with ability to provide exceptional customer support in a professional, compassionate manner. Ability to thrive in an environment of continuous improvement and change. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and adapt to new priorities quickly. Self-motivated with the ability to work in an independent environment under minimal supervision when needed (after adequate training and mentoring have been provided).
