ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Kearneysville, WV (hybrid work schedule; must be local to office). The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Infrastructure Managed Service (IMS) Program, for the Unites States Coast Guard (USCG). This initiative is modernizing and consolidating the engineering and operational environment under a managed service to better support the services provided to the USCG.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance across the Technical Services team, including requirements definition, design, implementation, and testing.
- Providing administration and operations and maintenance support on Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2 and 2016 to Windows Server 2019
- Create and update documentation and process improvements
- Providing quality services, including responsively communicating with customers, analyzing tickets to identify issues, developing proposed solutions, and resolving tickets.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Perform routine system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to Plan, implement, and monitor regular patch updates for Windows servers using TSSA, ensuring timely updates and minimal downtime.
- Assist in user account management and permissions.
- Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new software and hardware solutions.
- Work on special projects and tasks as assigned
- Support core business hours and on-call support during non-core business hours.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree and 5 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
- Experienced supporting Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2 and 2016 to Windows Server 2019
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITILv4 Foundations certification preferred.
- Detail-oriented and able to organize information
- Strong customer service and oral/written communication skills required
- Strong understanding of software distribution, patch management, and operating system deployment..
- Ability to work independently and produce results, given general priorities, required
- Versatile and flexible and capable of assisting other Tier 3 teams within the overall, larger Enterprise support team
