Job Summary: Assists in the final testing of wind turbines power transmissions and their subassemblies. Works under the supervision of other testers, leadman or supervisor. May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Responsibilities: Verifies units to parts lists, assembly/test card, assembly/test protocols. Assembles fixtures to unit and installs on test stand. Connects and wires sensors, motors, and probes per the test criteria. Reports failures when noticed. Checks units for cleanliness and visually inspects for defects. Fills units with oil per the assembly/test card. Assists in the monitoring of units during test. Operates test stand and monitors units during test requests guidance when needed. Inspects units for oil leaks during tests. Drains oil from unit after test. Removes units from test stand and takes off fixtures. Assists in after inspection per the criteria set forth in the assembly/test card. Performs after test assembly of shrink disc, oil pans and coolers. Enters information in the eMPP stations. Works along with representatives of other functional groups to include Assembly, Service, or other to communicate the findings on the unit.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- 1 year in production environment
- 1 year in testing environment
- Demonstration of sound mechanical aptitude
