Position Function A Winter Guard Instructor is responsible for coaching and guiding a group of students in a performing arts team that combines elements of dance, flag spinning, rifle tossing, and saber choreography, typically performed indoors during the winter season.
Position Duties - Develop and communicate a compelling artistic vision for the winter guard, ensuring visually striking and cohesive performances.
- Design and choreograph routines that complement the guard's musical selections, enhancing the overall performance.
- Provide comprehensive instruction in dance, flag, rifle, and baton techniques, ensuring students develop strong foundational skills.
- Conduct regular rehearsals, focusing on precision, coordination, and expression to achieve high-quality performances.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and artistic growth.
- Collaborate with the marching band director to integrate the band front seamlessly into field shows, parades, and other events.
- Coordinate logistics for performances, including costumes, props, and equipment, ensuring all elements are performance-ready.
