The role
- Leverage expertise in wireless technologies including 5G, VoNR, mmWave, VoWiFi, and more.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to design and implement device testing strategies.
- Utilize logging tools like QXDM and MTK for log analysis and issue resolution.
- Execute comprehensive test plans for 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G networks for U.S. operators.
- Conduct field testing for handset applications (e.g., SMS, VoIP) and their network connectivity.
- Provide updates and insights on the performance of 5G Standalone and Non-Standalone technologies.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including vendors and network engineers.
- Stay up-to-date on wireless standards (OMA, 3GPP) to ensure compliance.
You will
- Develop and execute detailed field testing plans for wireless devices across multiple generations of technology, including 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G, ensuring all network services provided by U.S. operators are comprehensively tested and validated.
- Analyze log files using tools like QXDM, MTK, and Shannon to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and provide actionable insights to improve device performance and network compatibility.
- Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize device performance, and implement testing strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
- Conduct rigorous testing on handset applications such as SMS, MMS, VoIP, browser, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring their seamless connectivity with various network technologies, including Radio Access Technology (RAT), 5G, and VoWiFi.
- Communicate test results and findings effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders, providing well-reasoned recommendations for next steps based on detailed data analysis.
- Continuously stay updated on wireless standards (e.g., OMA, 3GPP) and emerging technologies to ensure compliance with industry best practices and contribute to the advancement of testing methodologies.
Who you are
- You hold a university degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications, with proven experience in testing wireless devices such as smartphones and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). You possess a strong understanding of both data- and voice-centric wireless devices.
- You have a deep technical knowledge of 5G Standalone (SA) technology, VoNR, VoLTE, and various wireless network access methodologies. You're well-versed in using logging tools like QXDM and MTK to conduct in-depth analysis of network and device performance.
- You excel at collaborating with SMEs, network teams, and vendors, communicating complex technical issues clearly, and making informed decisions that align with both business and technical objectives.
- You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple testing tasks efficiently. You demonstrate strong leadership skills, mentoring junior team members when needed, and always maintain a continuous learning mindset to stay current with evolving wireless technologies.
- You are self-motivated, challenge-driven, and enjoy working in dynamic environments where your expertise directly contributes to the success of high-impact projects. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills complement your technical expertise, enabling you to produce clear, concise reports and documentation.
