A healthcare organization in New York is currently seeking a new Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and/or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their growing team at their Bronx site! About the opportunity:
- Location: The Bronx
- Schedule: Open to full or part time (2 days/week)
- Setting: FQHC
Responsibilities:The WHNP / CNM will:
- Perform routine well-woman exams and use these exams to screen for conditions such as cervical cancer and breast abnormalities
- Provide family planning services, including prescribing and fitting contraceptive methods, offering counseling on family planning options, and educating women about birth control choices
- Provide prenatal care to pregnant women
- Diagnose and treat various gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections
- Manage the physical and emotional changes that come with menopause
- Educate women about breast health and conduct breast exams to detect abnormalities
- Provide counseling and education on various health topics, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and emotional well-being
- Prescribe medications, including contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, and medications for gynecological conditions
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of related work experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Active NJS Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) and/or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
