As a Work Order Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting initial review in the approval of all work orders submitted to the Engineering and Construction Management System (ECMS). This requires proficiency of work order approval requirements pertaining to the additional or extra work added to construction projects. Concise organizational skills are utilized to supervise the work and computations of the quantities and costs of highway and bridge construction projects. This includes the analysis of approved plans, construction reports, and contractors' statements supporting requests for payment, as well as the identification and resolution of conflicting data to establish the quantities for which payment shall be authorized to construction contractors. This professional is also responsible for developing and and comparing unit cost and totals on construction cost estimates, conferring with construction engineers, design engineers, and construction contractors' representatives to resolve any conflicting reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor; or
Four years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
