Purpose of the Job

The Workday Developer will be a key member of our team, bringing extensive expertise in developing HRIS, Finance and Accounting, Source to Contract and Procure to Pay solutions within the Workday ecosystem. The primary purpose of this role is to design, build and implement robust solutions. This includes analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, training, and support of complex business and enterprise software solutions. The Workday Developer will keep security, resiliency and optimal application performance as top-of-mind for all deployments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements Workday solutions, focusing on HRIS, Finance and Accounting, Source to Contract, and Procure to Pay solutions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Configures and customizes Workday business processes, workflows, and integrations to meet specific organizational needs.
  • Configures and maintains Workday security roles and permissions, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Provides expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Workday applications.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate Workday applications with other enterprise systems.
  • Stays informed about Workday updates and new features, assessing their impact on existing configurations.
  • Conducts unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing for Workday solutions.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance in system engineering and software development to peer, junior developers, and project staff in every aspect of the software development life cycle.
  • Ensures that security and performance best practices are followed when developing solutions.
  • Assesses the health and performance of complex applications and software solutions, providing support activities for both production and test environments.
  • Continuously improves software engineering practices.

  • Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have in-depth understanding in the following Workday technologies (Workday Studio, Enterprise Cloud, Enterprise Integration Builder, Workday Security, Workday Prism Analytics and Workday Scripting Language)
  • Must have in-depth understanding of modern web application components, protocols and standards (like HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Java) required for web-based applications
  • Must have in-depth understanding of integration technologies like Web Services and their integration with Workday and building SOAP and RESTful API's for building integrations. Experience with Mulesoft is preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must be adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Must have ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
  • Must have proven strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to evaluate complex systems and procedures, implementing efficiency enhancements
  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the credit union
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Must be able to work in a general office environment
  • Must possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members
  • Proficiency in developing Workday Custom Reports and creating Calculated fields.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology or similar discipline required
  • 5 years of experience hands-on experience in developing Workday solutions, with a focus on HRIS, Finance and Accounting, Source to Contract, and Procure to Pay solutions
  • 5 years proven track record of successful implementation and configuration of Workday modules, including core functionalities and specialized areas like Prism Analytics.
  • 7 years of experience working on complex IT project(s) involving the implementation of business solutions applying software development life cycles (SDLC) within an organization
  • Workday certification in one or more modules is highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in developing Workday solution
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics and designing data visualizations and analytic solutions required
  • Possesses a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members
  • Experience working with source code control systems (e.g. GIT and SVN)
  • Experience working with defect or incident tracking software
  • Experience in using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development Tools and pipeline (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
  • Experience with Workday Extend preferred
  • Experience in Test automation (Unit Testing/System Testing) (e.g. Postman) is preferred
  • Experience in UX/UI design experience preferred
  • Experience working in or leading a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred
