- The Worker's Compensation Coordinator will oversee and administer requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under, Worker's Compensation (WC), OSHA Reporting, state and local leave laws for a large state agency servicing over 4,000 employees.
- Communicates with employees regarding their need for Worker's Compensation (WC). Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for Worker's Compensation.
- Coordinates the agency's WC program in compliance with the South Carolina's Worker's Compensation law provisions. Creating, maintaining, and updating all WC files.
- Receives and responds to correspondence from employees, supervisors, attorneys, physicians, therapist, Compendium Services (or any applicable 3rd party companies pertaining to W/C), State Accident Fund, and State Workers' Compensation Commission about workers' compensation claims and reports.
- Determines OSHA record ability, days from work, and restricted duty days for each file, updates and maintains OSHA 300 logs, and completes and posts OSHA 300A summary report in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation request in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by the Division of State Human Resources.
