Job DescriptionThe Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Workers' Compensation Coordinator. This is a full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Associate Director of Insurance & Workers' Compensation.
The position may be in either Las Vegas or Reno, Nevada.The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: three universities, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.The purpose of this position is to provide workers' compensation support by filing claims, assisting injured workers with questions, tracking light duty assignments, and tracking accident investigation reports. They will provide back-up support for the Workers' Compensation Claims Coordinator. The incumbent will support the Risk Management Department by assisting with the coordination of the NSHE Cardiac Wellness program. The incumbent will promote Police Officer participation through outreach and training, they will assist with tracking and validating reimbursement requests and program charges. The incumbent will also be responsible for assisting in the OSHA recordkeeping process to include auding files and OSHA 301 forms and Establishment 300A logs for accuracy.
STARTING SALARY: Schedule B (starting salary range approximately $65,000-$75,000; depending on experience). A benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and retirement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have earned a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with three (3) years of professional experience in Workers' Compensation Claims Administration and Risk Management, or Medical Office Administrative support, or Medical Benefits Administration experience. Alternatively, six (6) years of progressive experience in Workers' Compensation Claims Administration and Risk Management or Medical Office Administrative support or Medical Benefits Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.Preference will be given to candidates in higher education experience and knowledge of Workday.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility.
- Coordinate and process statutorily required workers' compensation claims forms.
- File workers' compensation claims and incident reports with Third Party Administrator.
- Determine OSHA recordability and file 301 form. Comply with OSHA recordkeeping guidelines.
- Provide injured workers with claim information and regulatory information at onset of injury.
- Notify Supervisors of incident and solicit accident investigation paperwork and corrective action. Review for completion and follow up on corrective action.
- Coordinate modified duty assignments for Early Return to Work Program.
- Initiate first contact with injured workers.
- Back up for Workers' Compensation Claims Coordinator.
- Promote Police Officer Participation in Cardiac Wellness program
- Review Cardiac Wellness Program Reimbursement Requests to ensure program compliance
- Validate Cardiac Wellness Vendor Invoices to ensure
- Reconcile Cardiac Wellness Officer and Program Charges on Accounting Log
- Review claims and audit OSHA 301 forms for accuracy
- Audit OSHA 3001 Logs monthly to ensure accuracy
- Assist with annual filing of OSHA 300 log to State and Federal Agencies
- Other duties as assigned
