Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Semmes, Bowen & Semmes has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with experience in workers' compensation and insurance defense. We offer a flexible work environment with options for hybrid work. This position will require you to be in the office 5 days per week for the first 90-180 days. Semmes is a paperless office environment. Compensation: $50,000 to $80,000 annually including bonus Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and software skills (i.e., Word, Outlook, e-filing, etc.).
• Manage and coordinate attorney calendars, scheduling and travel plans.
• Client communication.
• Handling all incoming mail and flagging important tasks.
• Scan and update all hearing folders and make sure letters are sent out after every hearing.
• Open new files and make sure practice runs smoothly.
• Must possess excellent critical thinking and organizational skills.
• Typing (at least 60-70 WPM).
• Track billable time on a daily basis.
• Prepare legal documents and general correspondence in an accurate and timely manner; draft standard correspondence; proofread, edit, and format documents.
• Prepare paper court filings and electronic filings.
• Organize, file, and manage electronic and paper documents.
• Organize and submit documents for timely entry into the firm's docket system.
