Job DetailsJob Location Winchester Store and amp Processing - Winchester, VA Position Type Full Time Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services DescriptionJob Description The Regional Workforce Development Team Coordinator is responsible for day to day oversight of Workforce Development Services in their designated region. In addition to managing a participant case load, he/she will serve as a mentor to Workforce Development staff, modeling behaviors that are desired by Horizon Goodwill Industries (HI) for all Workforce Development staff to employ. He/She will ensure that services are provided to participants that enhance their vocational potential. He/She will work along side Associate Director of Workforce Development to develop and implement professional development plans for Workforce Development staff. Essential Functions
  • Participate in the development and implementation of case finding and client recruitment initiatives.
  • Perform screening, intake and orientation functions with applicants in the region to ensure compliance with AbilityOne/SourceAmerica ratios and to facilitate client entrance into appropriate programs and services.
  • Help recruit, train, and develop Workforce Development team in the region. Provide oversight of team as directed by Associate Director.
  • Act as case manager for assigned clients and provide information about and referral to services needed through community resources (i.e.: adult education classes, childcare, transportation, credit counseling).
  • Implement training and interventions to further career development of assigned clients, including job readiness training, job seeking support, employment retention support, and barrier resolution.
  • Act as liaison between assigned clients, employers and referral and funding sources
  • Provide post-employment support, and assist clients to identify and utilize natural support systems.
  • Educate clients, community organizations and employers concerning HGI programs and services.
  • Act as an advocate for assigned clients.
  • Cooperate and maintain good rapport with clients, employers, staff and referring agencies.
  • Maintain all relevant client records, case notes and other documentation including attendance records and progress reports. Responsible for additional auditing and monitoring of client database system, ETO Social Solutions.
  • Complete monthly progress reports and submit fee-for-service invoices as directed.
  • Assist with program evaluation and community needs assessment to identify program and service needs.
  • Participate in development and submission of program and service proposals to expand and diversify program funding as directed.
  • Participate in agency meetings and committees as directed.
  • Monitor and assess client's work based needs and make recommendations to funding sources for future programming.
  • Document client's progress in work site to determine appropriate training needed.
  • Develop volunteer relationships in the community and maintain relationships through consistent contact and documentation
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS TO BE COMPLETED TOGETHER WITH ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT:
  • Act as liaison with local service providers, referral and funding sources and cultivate positive working relationships in the communities and where personnel and programs may be supervised.
  • Contribute to the development of evaluation and training services in the underserved areas of HGI's assigned territory.
  • Complete and submit quarterly reports and program proposals to funding source(s) as directed.
  • Assist in the coordination and oversight of regional Workforce Development Team deliverables:
    • Identification and documentation vocational barriers.
    • Assessment and documentation of services needed.
    • Development, documentation, and implementation of individualized program plans.
    • Quality assurance of client documentation.
  • Along with entire regional Workforce Development team, facilitate cooperative relationships between operations departments to ensure quality employment and training service provision and maximize client productivity through weekly meetings and regular contact.
  • Produce and provide required reports for funding sources.
  • Participate in trainings to develop professional and management skills, which includes maintenance of all necessary professional credentials.
  • Assist with the preparation of HGI for CARF Compliance as well as other applicable licensures and accreditations.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for Workforce Development Team as directed by
  • Associate Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Workforce Development and/or Chief Mission Officer.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to learn and apply GI's policies and procedures as well as attend required training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to clients, staff, and related agencies.
  • Ability to provide motivation, leadership, guidance, and supervision to assigned clients.
  • Ability to relate to and have an understanding of the needs of people with disabling and disadvantaging conditions.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and provide own reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, meet deadlines, and attend required meetings and trainings.
