As a Foreman, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications. - Oversee the team and installation of flatwork, slabs, and insulated concrete forms, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Lead, manage, and develop a crew of laborers and skilled workers to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and construction documents to guide the crew in meeting customer and project expectations.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Communicate daily with the Project Manager or Site Supervisor regarding project progress, materials, and any concerns.
- Plan and delegate tasks to the crew to ensure efficient use of manpower and resources.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including holding daily safety meetings and ensuring proper use of equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections of worksites, tools, and materials to maintain organization and minimize delays.
- Provide hands-on leadership by assisting with carpentry and other construction tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any challenges that arise on-site, coordinating with other trades and subcontractors as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring that all materials and tools are properly stored and accounted for.
- Mentor and train crew members, providing guidance to improve skills and promote career growth.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 5+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on flatwork, slabs, and insulated concrete forms.
- Proven leadership experience as a Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and contracts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a crew.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
