Role and Scope of Position: The individual will supervise, plan, schedule, and perform a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to installing, testing, repairing and maintaining electrical transmission and distribution equipment of all types and transmission and distribution voltage classes throughout the Eversource NH system in a safe and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include:
- Installing electrical equipment of all voltage levels such as power transformers, metering equipment, lightning arresters, station service equipment, circuit breakers, switches, regulators, buss work, motors, batteries, generators, contactors, related control equipment and remote-control equipment.
- Installing conduit and control cable;
- Performing operational and trouble analysis; operating and maintaining test equipment including high potential test sets, Power Factor test sets, combustible gas analyzers, meggers;
- Performing and interpreting insulation quality tests,
- Performing high voltage testing of underground cables, operating bucket trucks, traveling cranes and a variety of power-driven tools.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Complete understanding of and the ability to apply electrical theory, as well as mechanical aptitude, manual and finger dexterity, and color distinction are also required.
- Ability to perform advanced math functions, read schematics and analyze system problems, operate, interpret and maintain calibrated inspection equipment, climb and work on ladders and elevated structures, and train and instruct others are all required.
- Individual must have the ability to plan, oversee and direct complex jobs both during normal work hours and in emergency situations.
- Individual must be able to perform transmission/distribution switching operations.
- Individual must also possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) with customers, both internal and external to Eversource.
- Applicants may be required to successfully complete the EEI CAST aptitude test.
Education:
- Associate degree in Industrial Electricity or the equivalent in combined education and experience is required.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience as a System Electrician
Licenses & Certifications:
- Commercial Driver's License (or the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License) with endorsements for Air Brakes, Hazardous Materials and Tank Vehicles
- Ability to obtain a Crane Operators License, and respirator fit testing
Compensation and Benefits:

- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
