Job Title: Workroom Assistant (Non-sewing) FLSA Status: Hourly

Division: RWP Reports to: Drapery Supervisor

Department: Fabrication

Position Summary: Drapery Workroom Operator duties include, but are not limited to: custom drapery assembly, measuring, and cutting of textiles. This position also folds, and packages finished product.

Position Responsibilities:

* Inspects materials for flaws throughout the fabrication process. Notifies supervisor of any concerns.

* Cuts, handles and assembles, large pieces of fabric according to the custom specifications on the workorder.

* Assists Supervisor in identifying and increasing process efficiencies.

* Hand cutting fabric for drapery includes use of scissors, snips, seam rippers and rotary cutters at various stages of production.

* Inspects finished product, trims threads and pulls staples if used during fabrication process.

* Folds and Packages finished product to be sent to warehouse for shipping.

* Cleans and keeps work area clean, safe and organized.

* Notifies Supervisor and Maintenance of any repair issues or unsafe conditions.

* Perform additional responsibilities as needed, relative to the function of the Drapery Workroom role. Assistance in other departments may be required, as needs arise.

* Ability to stand and work most of the shift is required.

Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Ability to work as part of a team and independently to complete assigned task.

* Able to receive and follow instructions as given.

* Able to use small hand tools and power tools as need.

* Effective communication skills.

* Must be able to push, pull and drag various fabrics through the production process.

* Must be able to twist, bend, lift, sit or stand for most of the day.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
